STANDARDS
These minimum standards are established in order to achieve the consistent excellence that we all desire--student, parent, and teacher alike.

Adults, young and other, twelve (12) years of age and older will be required to sit practical and theory examinations no later than the second year of study from beginner level. Children will sit the ABRSM Preparatory Test or the Trinity Guildhall Initial Exam in the second year of study.
Child beginners will be required to practice 15-30 minutes every day, while adult beginners will practice 30-45 minutes per day.
The schedule of practice time requires up to two hours per day at the higher levels and will be directed and monitored by the instrument teacher. Drums students will do a minimum of one hour per day from the beginner stage. In order to facilitate these standards being achieved, registered ColeMusiq students are permitted (and encouraged) to use our facilities for practice on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and on Saturday afternoons each week during the term. School is not normally open on Friday or Sunday.
Practical examination students will be provided a supervized practice and performance routine on Saturday mornings at 8:15 am. Those students who are also doing theory examinations will overlap during this time.
These are the QUESTIONS ABOUT PRACTICE that the teacher will ask the student at the start of each lesson:
1. How many days did you practice this week?
2. How much time did you practice each day?
3. What did you practice?
