Seminar with Maurice Gordon







Mr. Maurice Gordon, ARCM, LRSM, the Hon. Local Representative for the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music was our guest, teacher and facilitator at the recent ColeMusiq Piano Posture Seminar.

PROFILE on Mr. Gordon

Maurice Gordon studied piano from an early age, and attained the LRSM performing and the ARCM teaching diplomas. He also studied double bass on scholarship from the Jamaica Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra. He has been teaching both instruments for some years.

At present, he teaches piano at the School of Music, Edna Manley College, and at The Music House. He is double bass tutor at Immaculate Conception High School. For several years he was a tutor with the Jamaica Orchestra for Youth.

As a conductor, he directed the Tuesday Singers in Mandeville, and, at different times in Kingston, the Diocesan Festival Choir and the National Chorale of Jamaica.

He serves as assistant organist at Christ Church, Vineyard Town, and is the Hon. Local Representative for the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music.
